Georgia Tech picked up a big commitment today from Iman Shumpert. Shumpert is a 6'4" shooting guard (or potential point according to some) out of Illinois, who came up with some big performances this spring and summer to catapult up the rankings. According the composite rankings at RSCI he is the 15th ranked recruit in the class of 2008. This is a big pick up, as it looked lately like he might end up at Marquette. Marquette pulled out all the stops at Midnight Madness, including a visit from Dwayne Wade. Many felt Tech was also behind North Carolina in the recruiting battle.
